Story: Spark was rescued from a shelter in Puerto Rico. We are so happy to have her safe and sound in a foster home in the DC area now. Spark is a happy sweetie who loves people and gets along great with other dogs and puppies. She knows just how to get comfortable up on the couch with her humans, and will love to join you on walks and trots around the neighborhood. Spark is just looking for someone to be her new best furend and we know that she will repay them with endless amounts of love and tail wags. Like all dogs, Spark will need an adopter who is committed to setting her up for success by enrolling in obedience training and exercising her both mentally and physically. She will also need love, patience, and socialization in order to thrive!

What my foster says:

BEHAVIOR IN HOME - We’re having so much fun with Spark!  She’s such a sweet girl, and she’s the calmest puppy that we’ve fostered. She likes chewing on toys and playing tug of war. She doesn’t mind being in her crate and has been sleeping there at night without any issue. Mostly, she just wants to hang out with you while you're doing whatever you’re doing.  She’s a great companion while you’re doing the dishes or watching tv. She’s also doing really well with house training.

EXERCISE NEEDS - Spark loves to play until she’s tired, then curl up on the couch to relax. She was very hesitant to walk on a leash when she first got here, but she’s getting better every day.

PERFECT FAMILY - We can see Spark thriving in pretty much any situation.  She’s great with kids and dogs.  She hasn’t interacted with cats yet, but we’d guess she’d do fine.  She’s gentle with children and anyone else she’s met.  Spark might be a great fit for someone living in a city environment because she doesn’t seem to mind loud noises, people, dogs or anything else really.  Spark would be a great fit in any home!

The fee to adopt Spark is $475. That covers the cost of all her vaccines, the collar she’s wearing, her transport to DC and her care in her foster home. She’s up to date on all age appropriate vaccines. Spark has been seen by a shelter vet and was given a clean bill of health.
