Here’s what to expect:

Step 1: The Application

Our application is designed to help us find your perfect match; therefore, it is essential that you are as open and honest as possible when completing the form. Please note that upon receiving your application, our Matchmakers will:

Complete a check of public records associated with the applicant as well as all members living in the household
Contact your landlord (if renting)
Contact your current or previous veterinarian (if you currently have or have previously had any pets in the home). Please note that all animals currently in the home MUST be up to date on vaccinations and altered prior to bringing in a new pet.
Contact both of the references listed on your application
We recommend letting the appropriate parties know that you are interested in adopting prior to filling out our application.

Step 2: the conversation

Once your application has been reviewed, one of our adoption Matchmakers will be in touch to schedule a time to speak with you over the phone. The purpose of this conversation is to tell you a little bit more about Petey and Furends, review your answers to the application, and answer any questions you might have. Please note that we do reserve the right to complete a home visit (either in person or virtually).

Step 3: Matchmaking

Your designated Matchmaker will act as your guide. Their role will be to share with you which animals will fit your lifestyle.

Don’t worry if there is not currently a cat that matches what you are looking for. We are constantly in touch with our shelter partners and will work with you to find the perfect match.

Terms and Conditions

We require the following from all of our adopters: All animals must be indoor animals only. They must be neutered or spayed. Petey and Furends must be contacted immediately if the adoption does not work out for any reason. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age. By checking this box you acknowledge and accept these terms of adoption.
