FOSTERING DOGS

Congratulations! You’ve taken the first step toward SAVING A LIFE.
We cannot express to you how much we rely on our Lifesavers.
The absolute truth is that without foster homes, we would NOT be able to save any animals.
We are truly grateful for you.

Joining our Lifesaving Team is very similar to the adoption process. Listed below is what to expect:

STEP 1: THE Survey

Our survey is designed to help us find a foster that will be an ideal match; therefore, it is essential that you are as open and honest as possible when completing the form. Please note that upon receiving your survey, our Matchmakers will contact your references, landlord (if renting), and veterinarian (if you have any pets in the home). We recommend letting the appropriate parties know that you are interested in fostering prior to filling out our survey.

STEP 2: THE CONVERSATION

Once your survey has been reviewed, one of our Matchmakers will be in touch to schedule a time to speak with you over the phone. The purpose of this conversation is to tell you a little bit more about Petey and Furends, review your answers to the survey, and answer any questions you might have about becoming a Lifesaver.

STEP 3: MENTORING

Once you decide you are ready to bring in your first foster dog, you will be paired with a mentor who will share with you which animals are awaiting a foster home. Your mentor will also support you and answer any questions you might have.

We require the following from all of our fosters: All animals must be indoor animals only. Petey and Furends must be contacted immediately if the match does not work out for any reason. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age.
