In Memory of Parker Wait: A Donation for our Heartworm Positive Dogs
This week we received our biggest donation yet - and we could not be more thankful for the support.
This generous donation, made in honor of the late Parker Wait, will help dogs like Eleanor and Popeye receive life-saving heartworm treatment.
Heartworm is a serious disease that results in severe lung disease, heart failure, other organ damage, and death in dogs. It is caused by a parasitic worm that is spread through the bite of a mosquito. This disease plagues many of the dogs that are in the shelters down south because they are often outside and not given their monthly preventatives.
The treatment is very expensive, ranging from $400-$700 dollars, and results in many rescues having to pass on wonderful dogs because of the cost.
It is because of generous donors like Jennifer and Jaron Clay that we can continue to save these amazing animals and place them into loving homes.
Thank you for helping us further our live saving mission.
