Story: Captain is an gorgeous Maine Coon Mix cat, who came to us from a shelter in North Carolina. We are just not sure how he ended up in there, but we are so happy to have him with us now in a foster home! Captain is a happy and sweet cat. He spends his days playing with his foster family and chasing all the fun toys they have. When he’s done it’s nap time or cuddling with his humans!
What my foster says: Captain is a Maine Coon beauty with silky black & brown medium-length hair and a long, bushy tail! Just a big, beautiful boy! He has had a hard time recently when he was hit by a car and had to have one of his back legs amputated as a result. But he hasn’t let that slow him down at all and he is doing fantastic as a tripod kitty! Captain can be a bit shy at first in new surroundings but he really adores people and if you call him it doesn’t take him long to come searching for you. He is very friendly and likes attention and is happy to sit next to you for pets or follow you around as a trusty companion. He is very independent as well so when you are busy he is quite happy to go find a place to burrow under such as a blanket, a pillow, a kitty taco, or even under a dog bed! Captain has a very mild-mannered personality and doesn’t mind being picked up and would be great with kids. He’s game for just about anything! We believe he is good with other cats and he has already met cat-friendly dogs and has been fine with them. Are you the lucky family who will get to take home this bundle of love?
The fee to adopt Captain is $200 ($325 for two kittens). This covers the cost of vaccines, his neuter, the collar he’s wearing, his transport to DC and his care in his foster home. Captain has been seen by a shelter vet (or other vet) and we are not aware of any health issues.
